For skaters working on Pre-Freeskate and beyond (Free Skate 1-6).
The U.S. Figure Skating Aspire program is the bridge between Learn To Skate USA group lessons and full U.S. Figure Skating membership. Through the development of athleticism and artistry, skaters build a solid skill foundation that drives success on and off the ice.
ATTITUDE
SPORTSMANSHIP
PERSEVERANCE
INTEGRITY
RESPECT
EFFORT
These are character development value words that best represent the Aspire athlete and words that represent what skating teaches all of us: Attitude, Sportsmanship, Perseverance, Integrity, Respect and Effort.
Aspire skaters will have the opportunity to collect these badges throughout the year with the goal of eventually achieving each of these ASPIRE words.
One half hour of class concentrates on skating skills, turns, edge work, footwork and Moves in the Field. The other half hour focuses on level appropriate spins, jumps and choreography.
Skaters in this program have the option of purchasing an additional half hour of ice prior to the class to have a private lesson. See "Private lessons" page for details and additional ice fee.
